Spring is officially here, and if you look outside your window, you'll see signs of new life all around. What once appeared withered and dead is beginning to sprout new growth, a reminder that nothing in nature is stagnant.

At Cincinnati Children's, we are always poised to grow, to learn more and expand our perception of what is possible when it comes to improving the health of kids. We know that endings are also beginnings and that being open and flexible is the secret to inner strength.

In this issue, we hear from Patty Manning, MD, our soon-to-be retired chief of staff, as she looks back on her long career at Cincinnati Children's. Her colleagues also speak out about working with her (especially how she helped guide us through COVID) and the legacy she leaves.

Next, you'll learn about three empowered employees who recently participated in the Management Accelerator program, which is designed to support Black, Hispanic and Latinx professionals in advancing their careers.

Then, find out how a HealthVine community health worker helped a family in desperate need get back on their feet when they seemed to be out of options.

Of course, this is just a sampling of all the ways we continue to be the best at getting better. Happy Spring! And keep sharing your stories!
