We're just two weeks in to fully processing our U.S. News ranking as the No. 1 pediatric hospital in the country. Some of us are still pinching ourselves and hoping we don't wake up from this dream.

At the same time, if we're telling the truth (one of our Core Values), we've always known that we are the best at getting better. And we work hard at delivering the best outcomes and experience for our patients and families.

The stories in this issue provide a micro view of how our concern and care for kids impacts their lives—in ways at once simple and profound. And that concern goes beyond our walls—all the way to Syria, as you'll see in Hazem Al-Hnawi's journey to help earthquake victims earlier this year.

Then read about Josie Eshman's battle against rhabdomyosarcoma and how our oncology team's expertise made a difference for her and her family.

Adam Malone, 21, is on a mission to help people with disabilities overcome barriers and travel the world. He credits Cincinnati Children's with giving him the opportunity to live his best life.

We also introduce this year's chief residents who exemplify why we have every reason to feel excited about the future of pediatric medicine and Cincinnati Children's.

We started our journey as a small, midwestern community hospital. With just 10 years to go before our 150th anniversary, there is no limit to where our imagination and hard work can take us.

If you've missed previous issues of Inspire, you can find them in our archives.
