At Cincinnati Children's, we put a great emphasis on the word "together." Collaboration is our distinguishing hallmark, which attracts patients, families, students and staff to work, to learn and be healed within these walls.

The stories in this issue highlight that connectedness and serve as clear illustrations of how much we need each other, how much stronger we are when we reach out and share our ideas, our hopes and our vulnerabilities.

As we celebrate the opening of our new College Hill residential facility and the establishment of the Mental and Behavioral Health Institute, we are reminded of how important it is to care for the whole person—mind, heart and body.

This month, in keeping with that theme, we feature the 2023 Dr. Curtis Sheldon Compassionate Caregiver awardees and an online trauma-informed training that the Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children is offering free of charge to the community.

You'll learn how our school program for inpatients provides a grounding sense of normalcy while they are hospitalized.

You can also find out some of the ways Cincinnati Children's has been a leader on mental health issues for many years.

The inscription above the entrance to the new College Hill residential entrance reads: Hope happens here.

Yes, it does, thanks to the collective efforts of every one of us. Let's keep the momentum going.
